You might feel afraid to contact the police. This could be because you are an LGBTIQ+ person and have experienced a hate crime, or because the police were not safe to approach in your home country.

In the Netherlands, it is safe to contact the police. They are here to help you. To make it easier for LGBTIQ+ people, the Dutch police have a special team called Roze in Blauw (Pink in Blue).

Pink in Blue is made up of trained police officers who understand LGBTIQ+ issues. Many of them are LGBTIQ+ themselves. They respect your privacy—just like all Dutch police—and will treat you in a friendly and respectful way.
